West Performing Arts | Santa Cruz, CA

Improv: Intermediate

SCAN0006Actor’s Toolbox classes focus on a particular technique supporting the performing arts. West Staff and Guest Artists work with students on developing and strengthening important skills and elements necessary to the study of the performing arts. Classes focus on individual growth within the context of an ensemble. Costuming, Make-up, Lighting, Sound, Scenic Painting or Building and Actor tools for the trade are all potential themes. Creative expression by the students is not only encouraged, but serves as the basis of each work created.

GOT FUNNY? Good! This class encourages all things made up, outlandish and silly. The class will focus on short form theatre games and scene work in the style of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Be creative…think on the spot…see the world in a completely unique way. Spontaneous play and ensemble work drive this course. The Santa Cruz community is rife with Improv troupes – and this is where they get their start! This class requires a minimum of 6 participants to run – so tell your friends to come out and PLAY!

The following classes are Open Level: beginning and experienced improvisers welcome to attend. Be sure to check the age of your child with the conditions of the class. If you have more questions please contact us.
